Volunteer Registration is Now Open!
Reading Buddies is a program for children in grades 1 - 5 who need some support with their reading. The Little Buddies are matched with a Big Buddy, a teen or adult, and they meet once a week. The one goal of the program is to foster a love of reading.

Adult volunteers needed for one on one and small group tutoring of adult learners wanting to upgrade their reading, writing, English language, basic computer or basic numeracy skills.
Tutor training and ongoing support provided.
Must be able to provide 2-4 hours of volunteering per week.

We are looking for volunteers to assist LINC teachers with classroom activities, including individual, small group, or general classroom assistance.

Host Program
Host Program
The Host Program at Archway Community Services is looking for men and women to volunteer with English conversation circles and a one-on-one friendship-based program for newcomers to Canada.
The time commitment is approximately 1-2 hours per week.
Reading Buddies
Reading Buddies
Reading Buddies is a program of Literacy Matters Abbotsford, Abbotsford’s community literacy network. This program supports children in grades 1 to 5 who are working to improve their reading.
Big Buddy volunteers are matched with Little Buddies for a one-on-one weekly session at the library. Within the one hour sessions, Little Buddies discover the joy and fun of reading while building their confidence; Big Buddies act as mentors while fostering a love of books in the children.
Reading Buddies runs October to April each year. Applications will open in September, stay tuned.

We are looking for highly motivated volunteer tutors who are enthusiastic about language, literacy and culture!
As a Literacy Tutor with the Moving Ahead Program, you will work with adult learners in one-on-one or small group sessions.
Many of our learners are recently arrived immigrants and refugees with limited formal education.
We also work with adults who have special learning needs.
